international transfer, KSU to Ryerson in Canada

I am currently a freshman at Kent State University, in Ohio, USA. I want to transfer to Ryerson University in Canada. I am a pretty good student, I have three A's, one B and almost a 4.0...How selective is Ryerson? Also,
I need to take certain "grade 12/u" classes for admission into their Nutrition program (Biology and Chemistry)...I am taking Biology next semester at Kent, does this count for that class..I have to take the Chem. class in Ryerson pre-university prog. because I never took Chemistry in high school..(our science teachers were terrible)....

I'm sorry. I'm clueless about the "grade 12/u" requirements. I suggest emailing Ryerson's adcom and giving them a detailed list of courses you've taken so far or will take.

Question: Why are you transferring (or want to) out of Kent State Uni? It's one of my safeties, and I'm curious about the type of environment it has, and classes, especially in sciences. You could PM me if you want to.

Good luck with the transferrence!

U need 6 Grade 12 U/M courses, Bio and chem for sure along with either 12 U math, 12 U/M Social Science and Humanities, and Family Studies. This is for the Nutrition and Food BASc. It's all on www.ryerson.ca check it out, al the programs are listed along with course requirements. Considering that you only have to have 60% or above in your admission classes, I don't think that Ryerson is very selective. They do take international students, but check out the website, there's tons of information on internationals and the programs offered.
Hope it helped!

why reyerson?
beside the fact that it is in downtown toronto, i have heard it's very mediocre, why not go to Queen's? U of T? and other BIG canadian schools?

Maybe she knows someone in Ryerson. Or maybe she LIKES smaller schools. Maybe she's unsure about being accepted to UoT or Queen's. Maybe she visited Ryerson and loved the environment. Maybe Ryerson's Nutrition program is better than the other Canadian/Ontario universities offering the program, too.

A pal of mine got withdrawn from a college and he managed to apply to some of Ryerson's night/evening classes. He liked it there, it was very accepting. Now he transferred to Concordia and is quite happy there.

Why does everyone always assume that smaller canadian colleges/universities are not that great. One of my friends is at Augustana University in Camrose and she absolutly loves it! Concordia is a good school too. The big schools are good I guess, but there's smaller ones that are amazing as well. Just think about that small little fact. And by the way the U of A is the only school in Canada and most of the world that offers a Certificate in Globalization and Governance along with a Poli sci major. Just another little fact.

i'm afraid that i wouldn't get in anywhere else up there...i\m a really good student but i just want to get into a school up there...besides Ryerson is accredited by the Dietians of Canada, so in theory it should be just as good as other schools up there, right???

and yes i do prefer smaller schools..
