I applied to SOM as an international transfer student on Feb 9,2009 and submitted all the reuirements at the same, but haven't heard any news regarding a decision until today.
One of my friends applied to SOM on Feb 28th,2009 and received a rejection email about 3 weeks ago. Did you send out a decision letter for International Tranasfer students yet?

Transfer decisions are on a rolling basis so they accept transfers until the class is filled up. You should hear fairly soon and again if you do not hear please feel free to contact the admissions office. You can contact Nick Forcier (who is the admissions counselor for international students). His information should be on the admissions.binghamton.edu –> meet us page

Thank you Jana Actually I applied to SOM on Feb 9 and another international friend applied on Feb 28. My friend received a recjection letter about 2~3 weeks ago but I haven’t received any thing yet. I only applied to Binghamton so I am having horrible days.
Also, one of my American friends already received a decision letter a week ago.
I though transfer decisions are on a rolling basis? Do you give a decision to citizens and residents first and then international students? My American friend received a decision so quickly even though my international friend applied in early Jan and still haven’t received anything. Thank you

I believe that all transfer students (national or international) are admitted on a rolling basis. Have you checked your status on admissions.binghamton.edu?

Yes I did. It is very curious that my friend(F-1) applied to SOM on Jan 11 and haven’t received any news from them, since another friend(F-1) who applied on Feb 28 received a rejection letter about 2~3 weeks ago. I just checked my application status but it still shows me “Complete ready for review.” Please tell me BingAmbassador What is going on~ I called Bing a few times this week and they kept telling me to wait.

I called the admissions contact number, which is on Binghamton’s website, and a lady(her voice seemed like a student who works at the admissions office or anyone who works at the admissions office) picked up the phone. Since from early-april I talked to a few admissions officers and they kept telling me to wait. hmmm…I’m going to call Binghamton tomorrow because it seems like a rolling basis rule does not apply to international transfer students. T…T

Please contact Nick Forcier. He is the admissions couselor for international students. His info should be on the admissions website –> contact us

I just called his office and he was not in the office. I talked to a lady who works at Admissions office and she told me the same. She said that my application is still on review process and I have to wait for more days. I getting frustrated because one of my international friends who completed submitting all the required documents two weeks later than me have already received a decision, which was a rejection. If I did not receive anything from Binghamton, should I assume that I got rejected? Thank you
