<p>Is duke generally harder to get into for international students?</p>
<p>I'm from India and I applied to Pratt.</p>
<p>of course.. since it's not need blind.. ti's way harder if u need tons of aid.... if not.. it's just as hard for you as for any domestic...</p>

<p>Sadly yes...it's very disappointing knowing we have a lower admissions chance than the rest of applicants.
Btw, I live in america but i'm not a permanent resident yet. and therefore, even though my parents pay taxes and i myself pay taxes, I cannot get federal funding. booooooo</p>

<p>Full aid is in your dreams, honestly. Need-based aid is very tough to be granted</p>
<p>Unless you’re a prospective Nobel Laureate and despite that (somehow) have ‘out of this world’ ECs - Forget full aid.</p>

<p>If you are an international student and you get admitted to Duke, then Duke will meet your full financial need as assessed by the CSS Profile and since they have to do this from their own funds and not the government, this is why international students have a lower admit rate.
So, in other words, if we get in, we should be okay.</p>
<p>If you are an international student who has the resources, you can specifiy that you do not need financial aid and thus have a better chance of being admitted. Of course, if you do that, you cannot apply for financial aid for any of your 4 years at Duke. Otherwise, Duke expects to enroll about 20-25 international students a year whose demonstrated needs will be met by financial aid.</p>
