<p>Can we pull ourselves together and get back to the original topic: how to cope with tuition?</p>
<p>simple. we should just be honest with colleges abt how much we can afford to pay. if the college can't pay for the rest we go to the govt./employer/NGO to ask for some kind of scholarship. some people have wealthy uncles/aunts. and if we can't pay we don't go to that college. simple. to an int'l student america isn't necessarily the be all and end all.</p>
<p>You can say that as you're in Harvard already (I didn't apply, Harvard isn't all that great for engineering plus those in my circle who've got admission before are mainly citizens with phD holders in the family and I am nothing near). As for NGO... NGO here only cares about people on the street. If I ask help from them, they're just gonna be 'so? there are a 100000 others like that?' <em>sigh</em> My college is making me pay double of what I said I could pay and the rest of their financial aid package is a lot of loans ugh. Anyways, taemi, you must have some amazing accomplishments to be going to Harvard (a friend of mine got in this year too and is not paying anything as well), share them with us perhaps.</p>

<p><em>sigh</em> for a change of topic (not that i should do that) anyone having to leave their bf/gf to study abroad? I am having to and I am sad :(.</p>
<p>I can easily marry an American. But that seems just like adding responsibilies... if there weren't enough already. And I think a non-immigrant student on a scholarship studying in a top school is better a immigrant studying at a local state uni on full funding who isn't international anymore.</p>
<p>I can pay around 1,000 nut 8,000 is out of the question.</p>
