Interning Abroad

I'm sure something like this has been asked before, but I'm having trouble finding it so I apologize in advance...

Next summer I am wanting to do a program with a bunch of students and intern abroad in Australia for the summer (anywhere from 4 - 10 weeks). I've found quite a few programs on internabroad.com and the best so far I've found is the Arcadia program. However, the internships are unpaid! Is this a common deal? Does anyone know of any programs that provide paid internships? I will have completed by sophomore year and am a Business Honors Program/Marketing major at UT Austin so will have a decent business background.

If anyone doesn't know of any paid internships any other good unpaid programs or any suggestions?

Unlike many members of this board, I don't particularly like unpaid internships. They are unpaid for a reason - most likely because they are either 1) unprofessional 2) small sized.

However, if you have the financial backing (and if you can't find any good paid internships) then by all means go ahead, it'll look good in your resume.

Internships are unpaid abroad because you need a work visa to have a job in a country where you aren't a citizen. Student visas are expensive/hard enough, so I would imagine that work visas are very difficult to obtain.
