Internship for high school students at Princeton or upenn

I am an 11th grader attending a high school in West Virginia. I would like to know the best source to get some knowledge about internship, specifically in Princeton University or UPENN. This is for 2011 internship program. Do I have to contact some professor in these universities? Do I have to contact some department in these universities? Are they advertised in university website? One of my friends in Alabama told me students are selected for internship from their schools. Is it true? I do not see this in my school in West Virginia?

Yeah, I also want to get an internship near the Princeton/UPenn area. I live in SJ, and I’m really interested in econ/math/finance. Are there any internships, esp. in the summer, for rising juniors (aka Im a soph now)?

You can take summer classes at these school if you’re willing to pay.

As for real internships for high school students, I kind of doubt it, especially if you don’t live in the area already/have connections there. There are students at Penn and Princeton who want those internships and have more experience. Maybe try a local university instead?

check out the krinsky internship program held at penn, friends have done it and raved
