Internship Search comes to a big fat zero..=(

ok, ive been looking for an internship for a while. im an above average (nothing brilliant) junior in high school with good scores and that whole deal. i applied to the one for juniors at drexel, NHS, and a few others, but they have yielded nothing! how willing are college professors to pick up a high school student?..i mean like a rutgers university professor or something. do u know of any other things i can do now, to get some type of nonpaid internship? yeah, i shoulda mentioned that, im not after the money at all...

high school internships don't really matter at all...get a license and pick up some girls.

Yeah why do you want an "internship" in high school? Haha, I netted 2 total offers for the summer after my freshman year and none seemed like what I really wanted to do (as in, something interesting). Back to my old job for a 4th year.

In high school though, seriously, good luck.

For a second I thought you were a junior in college, lol.

In high school?! I'm surprised you were expecting anything more...

Just chill, enjoy your time, etc. And if you parents give you a hard time explain to them that most organizations will not consider high school applicants.

bpatel, if your goal in this internship is to improve your college app, you would be just as well off working a regular part-time job

I agree, don't worry about an internship now, it's hard enough getting an internship while in college. Get a part time job.

Lol high school student looking for a legitimate internship position, amusing.

Try to focus on local companies--in an area of particular interest. Do you have friends who have parents that might work at any of these companies? Son worked at "internships" during HS. All were at eng/computer related companies. His very first job was a very minimum wage--for 2 or 3 days a week, doing filing, cleaning of a basement/organizing engineering files, etc. It is not impossible to find something, you have to be persistent and try to sell yourself! Good Luck--

If I were a college professor, I wouldn't want a high school student anywhere near my research.

mattistotle wins on this thread

hahah agreed.

Stop obsessing with internships, work etc.
Just have fun dude, you're in high school ...
