So, I eventually want to go to CS grad school. I don't know at this point if I want just a Master's or a Master's and a PhD. Just a sophomore at this point. So, basically, I'm wondering if it really matters if I interned for a company like Google or Microsoft versus a lesser known company in terms of the grad school app. (I know it looks better for industry)
I'm asking this because I may have a chance at one of these "top" companies this summer, but for more personal reasons I may end up wanting to work at a lesser known company this summer and I'm wondering how negatively that would impact my grad school App. Any insights would be welcome, thanks!

Depends if you are going for a funded Master’s program or a part-time/distance/online Master’s program. A funded M.S. program may care about that intern stuff. A part-time/distance/online Master’s program cares more about if your employer is paying and your professional experience after your B.S. degree.
