Hey everyone. I’m new to this forum. Maybe semi new. I am going back to college in the fall. I am majoring in information technology/IT for my associates but want to get a minor or double major with digital media design/visual communications/communication design or game design or computer forensics. I want to get my bachelors in information technology with a double major with design, game design, or computer/digital forensics. I want to get an internship somewhere during my college degree and in order for me to intern out of state I need to intern somewhere where it offers free housing. I know Google offers free housing and I was wondering if any other internet companies offer free housing for interns?
I’m not sure about private companies – they tend to not fund housing, and internships at the hot tech firms are extremely lucrative. You might want to look into academic research. Looks up REUs (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) through the NSF. They are often offered through elite universities and usually provide both housing and a stipend.
Lots of private companies pay for housing, not just Google. Some even pay for transportation. Some kids can’t afford to pay for first month housing until they get the first paycheck.
Google offers you housing, or $ to find your own place.
