I know intersession is like a month in which you take classes. But do these classes go into your GPA? Are they weighed as much as a regular class (boosting GPA)?
no
Intersession classes are basically 1-3 credit pass/fail courses on topics you typically wouldn’t see in the regular semester. So no they don’t factor into your GPA nor do they go towards your major.
Thanks for answering.
Follow up question: So what’s the point in taking them?
Also, do you guys attend JHU?
I do, and @saif235 is right. But many people are on-campus during that time anyway to work and do research, or just relax, so the classes are just something extra and fun to do. For people with more rigorous majors, this may be the only chance to take electives in completely random fields. I’ve taken courses on music cognition, medical imaging, MATLAB, and the systems biology / physics / ecology of mythical creatures, which was my favorite. There are also courses that teach skills like photography, ones that are pre-professional (like one that helps you figure out possible careers, or works with the med campus to give an intro to medicine)
Thx that was helpful
@OnMyWay2013 How much is the tuition of the intersession courses?
They’re free unless you’re taking an art / instrument / dance class or doing anything abroad
Thanks for the info!
