I've just received an offer for an interview at Princeton, but the interviewer is in the US and we can only talk through Skype.. What the heck? I feel awkward at normal interviews, I can't even begin to imagine how weird this might be.
I have half a mind to tell her I won't be around an internet connection just to get out of it, because oh my sweet merciful god, I am such an awkward person in online video chats. Mainly so with people I don't know.

Has anyone else gone through something like this and could possibly offer some advice? I already feel like crawling in a hole out of embarrassment, and nothing has happened yet...

New century, new technology. I have friends who did interviews over the phone in the 1970’s. If Internet access is tricky, see if a voice-only interview will do.

As for being nervous, don’t worry. College interviewers are used to speaking with young people who look (and act) terrified.

Thank you!
Though I don’t know how used to it she is, she’s a freshly graduate, so I kindof feel like a guinea pig haha.

Am I supposed to dress up and sit myself in front of the computer? Honestly, I can’t imagine this. I like the old fashioned way where you meet the person and shake their hand. I feel like that alleviates my stress somewhat

Just wear a nice casual top (shirt or blouse, not a T shirt) and make sure your hair is brushed and there is no spinach in your teeth. Look like yourself. You’re not going to be evaluated on your clothes.
