interview

what should i wear to my interview for deerfield its in a couple days, It is going to be cold and i no idea what to wear. and also what questions will they ask?

We recently completed our Deerfield interview. I have a son and most of the boys had on sportcoats and ties. The girls had on skirts with tights or trousers, sweaters, and wool coats. (I saw some of the girls wore their Uggs/winter boots inside and changed into dress shoes) The tour goes from building to building so you aren’t outside for very long.

The admissions officer asked my son about his academic interests(most of their time was spent on this question), his family, his sports interests, his current school, why he wanted to attend boarding school, why Deerfield, what he thought about living away from home. I’m sure there was more but that was all he could remember. She expected him to ask a lot of questions-so be prepared for that.

I hope that gives you a little insight-good luck and be yourself!!

thx so much that does help

My d is a student at DA and when she interviewed she wore dress slacks and shirt and sweater. It rained when were there and thus rain/snow boots.

I would stay away from jeans, seeing that DA is a formal dress campus. It is know to “have put the prep in preppy for boarding schools”. But honesty, after 3 months my d says that it isnt as “preppy” as she thought, just no jeans, gym shoes, t-shirts during the day or at sit down meals.

It is one of the reason my d chose DA, formal dress. Also, make sure you have questions for them, show your interest. Be honest and be YOURSELF!!

Good Luck

I wore brown tights, a slightly-above-the-knee tan plaid wool skirt, a nice tan t-shirt, a navy j. Crew cardigan, a grey blazer, and black flats. My tour guides told me whatI was wearing would perfectly fit their dress code.

To my interview, I wore a long brown J Crew skirt, a beige J Cres cardigan and a ruffly blouse.
