interview

does bucknell use the interview as an evaluative part of admissions?

would it benefit me to get an interview while visiting the campus. im going down to PA this week to visit.

My son just got their application in the mail and it says it is informational. However, I know a few kids from class of 2006 who did interview and felt that it helped with their admission- so I am not sure. (so now I wonder why I am posting at all!). Does anyone know for sure?

according to the bucknell common data set, interviews are 'considered' (the lowest of the three levels of importance) in the admissions process. to me that means this: a memorable interview will probably get an otherwise borderline candidate in; anything short of that will merely help in the 'school interest' category.

that said, my suggestion is to interview if you can. its both a great way to learn more about any school and an easy way strengthen (even if only slightly) an application.
