Any insight on the interview? What it’s like, what kind of questions are asked, how the panelists acted, etc.

The interview is pretty low-key; you'll finish your pieces from your audition and then they just want to tlak to you to get a sense of your goals and who you are. They ask about studio preferences, and then just standard fair college audition questions with a theatre bent - mine were things like "if there was no more performing arts in life, what would you do", "what do you think you need to work on most as a performer," "tell us about a book/play that's had a significant influence on the way you think", stuff like that. It goes by pretty quickly and they just want to get a sense of who you are after the audition.
Break a leg!

more! I need more example questions! please! lol

I can't remember any other questions besides "How are the performing arts where you live?"

"What studio?"

"Why NYU?"

"What else did you do besides performing?"

In the interview, they want to see you. If you answer honestly, and don't really have prepared answers and communicate what you want to say, that's what they want. They want your answers, your real true honest answers.

Okay, sounds good.

Did they ask any questions that completely threw you off? Questions that you wish you would have had a clean, clear answer for?

i had my nyu audition yesterday. I loved it. it was very... one on one. You go over and sit next to the judge, and she asked me what the last book I read that I truly loved was. it turned out that what i said was her favorite book. and than we talked about it for a little. Then she asked me why I wanted a school with acedemics when I am going into the performing arts. I told her. Than she said if i didnt get into CAP would i take another studio, i said yes, she asked what my preference would be and why. that was it. very simple, very down to earth. good luck and just have fun at it, this is what you love to do, breathe and show em what you are made of. : ).

Wow, okay...i can do this. How long was it?

The kid before me was about 10 mintes, and mine went for about 15 i think. The time means nothing, It really just depends on how long you talk to them. : ). and your right, you can do this. we all can do this. we WILL get in SOMEWHERE, and well all get rejected somewhere too, but it doesn't matter, we have to trust the people judging us to know where we will fit. <3

my audition was last week: the auditioner asked me about a book that "had an effect on me in some way"
she also asked me to describe my writing style, as in how I would go about writing an essay, and also what would I choose to write about.
i thought it was extremely fun! hehe :)

It sounds wayyy less stressful than i thought it would be. It seems like that "what is your favorite book?" question is very popular. It popped up when i was auditioning for a summer program last year as well. The only problem I ever have with it is that i never know what to pick. Sometimes I say a play, someimes a novel.... i love everything.
