is there anything specific that I should bring?

bring an activity resume, definitely. the one i brought only had ECs and leadership. apparently thats good enough.

Anything extra in general you want to show off/talk about? My friend brought his rubik's cube and did a blindfold solve for his interviewer xD

If you can describe the activities most important to you the best, then there is no need to bring an activity sheet.

...

I should have brought in a product from my business though >_>

Ask your interviewer. I was going to bring a resume, but was told to bring nothing but myself.

You can bring something that you're proud of, if you're inclined to.

Working on the yearbook is a big deal in my high school life, so I brought along my junior year yearbook (our yearbook is very journalistic and graphic design-intensive) and explained the production process to several of my college interviewers. Most seemed very intrigued.

I brought my research papers and used graphs, diagrams etc. while discussing my research. My interviewer was really excited about the research, and we had a great discussion, that was aided by my having the papers there.

Thanks everyone

DS was asked to bring a resume. The interviewer looked at it briefly and they launched into an unrelated conversation. He says it was all good, though.

Thanks everybody for the input, I had my interview today and it went great. It was weird at first because it was sort of like a dual interview. At first it was me and this other kid because he accidentally booked us at the same time. It was all three for about half an hour giving us info and letting us ask questions. Then he excused me for about 10 minutes to talk alone to the other kid. After that he called me in thinking that it was going to be short like the other one but we ended up talking for about an hour. It went really well. I also asked if MIT was feeling pressure from the other schools about eliminations loans. He said that his sources have told him that it is under strong consideration with the administration. But then again, I dont know who hos sources are. But good interview.

ok i had my interview as well. Here are my qualms - i felt i portrayed myself as a capable MIT student, but i didn't portray myself as a student who WANTED to be part of MIT.

That drove me mad. For some stupid reason, when he asked me the colleges i was applying to, i listed all the ivy leagues. then he asked me how i was going to choose, and i gave this bull answer on how looking at the curriculum is really important and blah blah. ***...i should have just said "there is no choice, i know it's MIT...CAUSE IT IS MIT!!!!!!

Am i worrying too much?

I'm surprised they are even asked you what other colleges you are applying to. My interviewer said that he would not ask us that question because he thought it was not right.

I felt exactly like you libelhairdresser! I thought I showed that I was worthy of going to MIT, but didn't feel like I showed it. I told him some of the other schools I was applying to and then he asked me what my first choice was and I said MIT (because it is)... and then he just kind of asked 'are you sure?' and acted like he didn't really belive me

I also completely forgot to mention one of my biggest ECs (its in my app...)!!!... but we had a good time

my interview mainly focused on school and my family. He got freaked out when I told him I wanted to major in History.

yeah another weak part of my interview was that I said i was super close to my parents. And he asked me where I would be in 15 years, and I said finishing my Ph.D, having a dog, living in the city, and having my parents stay with me...

that was a dumb answer. Cause right after he said how would you feel moving far away from home? yikes...

Did any of your ECs ask (this was my last question): tell me something that no one knows about you?

I was like what the heck am I supposed to answer for that? I secretly eat burgers even though I'm a veggie?

haha
no but they asked me how much time i spent on homework and what I do for fun. The second question was easy to answer but the first one I kept saying that it really depends, but he kept saying to guess and give an answer with numbers.
