I'm visiting WUSTL on like september 1st. I'm thinking about doing the on-campus interview. What kind of questions do they ask? Has anyone done one? What do u recommend i should do beforehand?

It's the most informal thing ever. Dont' worry about it.

My interviewer was actually one of the tour guides from the morning tour...I was a little surprised by that but yeah it's incredable informal. She asked all the standard questions that you should think about (EC's, fav school subject, how your friends see you, etc). The only curveball was "If you could be any animal, which one would you be and why?" Other then that, all the questions could be be prepared for. Don't sweat it.

I am a freshman this year at Washington University. Everyone else I talked to said the interview was informal. However, my interview traumatized me for life. The interviewer was an alumni. He was extremely intimidating. I told him I was taking anatomy in school and currently learning about muscle reactions. He asked me to explain in detail the process of a nerve reacting with the muscles and the roles of the different filaments. I mentioned calcium but not magnesium and he didn't like that. Later in the interview he wanted me to create a possible career for myself by combining my interests with my potential major. Together we came up with some bizarre notion of me working in a third world country in Africa, teaching gymnastics to little girls and monitoring their physical and emotional improvement. Prepare yourself for this question: What can you bring to Wash U that the university can't find elsewhere? A simple response about my personality was apparently not sufficient. I said I was enthusiastic (What, you think the rest of the kids at WU aren't enthusiastic?). My interview lasted an hour and forty-five minutes. So, most likely you will have a short and relaxing interview. But you might not...
