I was scheduled to have a phone interview with my top choice yesterday, but the interviewer never called. I gave him all the right information and I don't really know what to do now. Is it rude if I say "ehm...what happened? can we try again?" or do I wait until he makes his move?

You could try calling or e-mailing your interviewer on Monday. It's fine to ask what happened because you were expecting the phone call. Make sure your voice or the e-mail does not have an angry attitude, but politely ask why and when you can schedule another time for a phone interview.

Crap. Update: there was something weirdly wrong with my phone. People can call me and hear a ringing tone but I have no idea that they're calling. My friend tried to call me this morning but then we IMed each other and told me the problem.

What now?? This is even worse. I'm 100% sure he called now and I didn't pick up.

Then, notify your interviewer and say that your phone was not working. Give him your cell phone number, so he can call you at another time for an interview. Say that you're sorry about it because your phone was not working. You should notify him about the problem through e-mail or phone on Monday.

Hm, maybe you should still e-mail him, pretending he never called (which is partly true on your side). That way he'll think he called the wrong number or something...
