I was curious as to whether, in interviews for top schools like Andover, does the interviewer ask about one's extracurricular activities? The answer to this intrigues me because I read somewhere on CC that it is bad to talk too much about EC's in that the interviewer, if he or she wanted to, could just look at them from that applicants' file. If asked a question like that, should I talk about all of the activities I participate in, or just three or four in which I am most ferverent about? I just want to do the best that I can with the things that I can control, and worry less about the reccommendations and such which I can't do much about. Thanks a lot!

@Berkshirelover,
It depends on how many activities you are doing. If you’re involved in 7 extracurricular activities, you probably can talk about them all. If you’re involved in 22 extracurricular activities, I’d cut it a little short. Use your good judgement.
Also, definitely talk about the extracurriculars you’re most passionate about. If your interview is passionate about the same thing, you have something to connect over. Good luck!

Thanks! It seems much simpler now. I have about 9 EC’s and will take about an EC that I think seperates me from the athlete jocks and those people who focus only on one “kind” of EC. Thanks again!
