How does one best prepare for bs interviews? What are the commonly asked or frequent questions during interviews?

The most important question you need to be prepared to answer is:

WHY do you want to go to that particular boarding school?

Just be really friendly and connect with the interviewer… People always think about interviews as like an interrogation, but I think of it as more of like just a conversation.
Just talk to the interviewer and connect with him/her.

The St. George’s School web site has (or had) an excellent set of sample interview questions and interview tips. It has been linked to here, in other threads that cover this subject worth digging around for. One has a great discussion for parents and how THEY should approach THEIR interview. Use the search engine, because if this is important to you, the material posted here is well worth your effort to dig up. You might want to bump it up, too.

There was a really good thread on this recently. I’ll post the link to it.

Here is what I can tell you from my knowledge of it. A friend of mine last year was interviewed by like the top guy in admissions for Andover, it was pure luck that the head guy had to do the interviews that day.

My friend aced the interview and the interviewer even sought out his mom to tell her how amazing he was and not to change one thing. They became so caught up in conversation that the interviewer went over their time limit!

The lesson is to keep the conversation going like your talking to your friend but very politely and try to get the guy to imagine you in the school. That is what my friend did. Also, just talk about yourself and how much you love the school but not in a weird way. Practicing always helps! Try to do practice interviews with people that you aren’t as comfortable with instead of just your parents. Google college interview stuff too, that should help!

Hope you find this insightful
