Interviews

Columbia can't offer me an interview so far. They also say do not contact them. so how do i show that i am interested cuz i really want to go

Your application implies your desire/interest in Columbia. Also, you can show curiousity and enthusiasm for Columbia in your essays. A great interview is not going to put you over-the-top as much as a horrid/disrespectful one will hurt your chances. Most are just oppotunities for an exchange of perspectives, nothing more. If you don’t get one don’t sweat it. My D declined her phone interview and still ended up with a “Likely.” So all is not lost for RD. Just hang in there . . .

I also received a likely letter without an interview. As far as I can tell, it is not a hugely significant part of the application process, and not interviewing should not affect your chances of admission.
