Interviews?

I am sorry ,but what does " asian with a black profile " mean?

qianqian - i speak, write, and read chinese totally fluently but i was surprised at how you couldn't pick up that simple mistake from peare's with the jang, yang when you claim that you grew up in mainland and still reside there. just out of curiosity, why did you think it was jang? were you always in china, or you are not familiar with ping ying that much (which i know my family members, growing up in an older generation are not familiar with).

btw - ! as far as i'm concerned =p there is only one china, mainland or not, mongolia or not (don't you find it amazing that the rest of the world doesn't realize the close "alliance" almost confederate i would say, china has with the mongol tribes?) lol but in my organization i respect taiwanites xP

but it's awesome that you're from china =) i totally miss it! haven't been back in 5 years since my last visit. going back this year lol, i heard that it's quite easy to get acting/modeling contracts, is it true???? ;) absolutely hoping to pick up one myself.

p.s. - on the interview things. i asked two questions by e-mail to harv, waiting on replies. will post soon, when replied to (hopefully). i asked 1. who we are interviewed by (i believe adcoms but not sure) 2. and who i should call xD LOL is it the admissions office?

If you want to sign up for an on-campus interview, you have to call admissions.

yay! thank you!! =)

Yubi, actually I thought pearfire was trying to say "you are speaking Chinese"-- Ni Men Zhe me Jiang , not "how are you doing?" -Ni Men Zen Me Yang.---totally different meanings

Well ,it 's true that some students become unfamiliar with PingYing when they reached their junior or senior years. However My Ping Ying 's great, and to be frank ,My chinese 's among the best in our school/city ,even better than my maths I guess.

Sorry I am not sure what modeling contract is ,my english s not that good(blush).

Yes ,there 's only one China in the world .But it's appropriate to say "mainland".Main land --special administrative zone--taiwan province.}China

BTW, i am gonna email them a letter to ask about my status ,however,it might take a week to get my reply. The direct way is to call them ,apparently.

Hope you can have a nice "come back "trip to China .Where are u going to stay?

oh QianQian - lol i'm sure everyone's chinese in china is great. and my chinese is not bad myself =) however there is still one more correction in your ping ying which is "zhe" should be "ze." and i am well aware of mainland etc. in chinese, as you probably know, it is referred to as "da lu." however, i just wanted to make a political comment.

modeling contract is a contract with with a company or organization (i guess) to well, model. um, take pictures.. in pretty clothes. stuff like that.

i'm sure your status is fine, i doubt harvard would revoke an appointment without notifying you if the admissions office already approved of it. and your english is excellent!!

probably with my family at my parents' ? condo/apartment (no idea what it's called in english actually). we bought one because.. i don't know. my parents wanted it, the rest of my family live in it when we're not there (most of the time). but no lol my parents are with me in america.

ni men jiang le heng duo de zhong wen...zai yi ge mai guo ren de wang zhan laughs I like how interviews turned into totally a chinese convo (or half) :)

Hm...how about you want an interview with an alumni in the area...hm...Does Harvard do that? Or do they want an on-campus interview?

the official interview as part of the application is with an alumni and it will most likely be in your area. the on-campus interview is not mandatory at all, and i am not sure what harvard feels about it, but obviously it wouldn't be bad lol i think.

I am sure if you wanna say "how are you doing ?" you have to use "zen",I have no idea what "ze" means .And yubi, maybe I didn't explain it clearly ,but when I say my Chinese is good ,I mean Chinese course--sorry:)

Yes ,the Harvard admission office asked my mailing and e-mail addresses but sent me nothing:(

mm.. maybe they just want to identify you =) but really really i think you don't have to worry about it. ! i hope that you do great at your interview which i'm sure you will ;) so stop worrying lol and be the sincere person that you are at the interview.

hmm.. well maybe we learned it differently (i learned it in china too) i was taught that "ze me" is ze me.. ! oh! wait, Where are you from!! lol how can both of us totally forget speaking dialects?

I am from Sichuan,and u?

jiangsu =)
