Intro to Bioethics / Public Health, Policy and Politics

Any one has taken intro to bioethics? Does the course require daunting amount of reading?? I am hesitating between which one to take: intro to bioethics(writing intensive) or public health, policy and politics(an intro level course which helps me to better know the major). I am just a little afraid that the intro to bioethics might bring too much workload. Thanks!!!

Well, according to the course evaluations from last fall for Intro to Bioethics, “Many students felt that the course required a daunting amount of reading,” lol; I don’t know if that’s why you asked. I haven’t taken it yet, but I had a friend who did, and she didn’t think it was that bad. I believe that it has 2 5-7 page papers and ~6 1 page papers (though I’m not completely sure about this), which is pretty reasonable.

If I were you, though, I’d stick with the course that will introduce you to the major that you’re interested in. I think that’s a new course, so I can’t say anything about it. But if you’re drawn to Bioethics, I really don’t think it’s an overwhelming amount of work. You could always sit in on a class or two, or enroll and then switch out if it looks too intense.
