Investment banker Career help

I'm in the process of transfering colleges and I want to get into investment banking. However there is no major for this, so after looking around at some sites, I found the best degrees for this job are accounting, economics and finance. As of right now my major is Business analytic and I know that alone will not get me into investment banking. What would be a better degree to add on to it economics or finance? '

Thank you for your help

Not sure what college you are transfering to. For IB, being at a target school is important maybe even more so than your major.

Finance would be the best major. I’m warning you though, getting into IB from a non target (non ivy/Stanford/nyu/Berkeley/etc.) is nearly impossible, and if you have bad grades it is straight up impossible. If you are at a non target, either network your *** off or go for corporate finance. With bad grades, your only choice is corp fi or accounting or something. Also, be sure this is what you want. If get in, there will
be regular 100+ hour weeks, so be sure you want it not for just money.

Any school that has an accounting degree, and almost all that have a finance degree (save for maybe a handful) will not get you into IB unless you really know what you’re doing, and to be blunt, based on your question you don’t.

Thanks for your help everyone

Is UVA or college of Willaim and Mary targets school. I was accepted into UVA but don’t have the funds to go. My parents cant afford paying for my college like most lucky people even after attending community college, but I do plan to get masters from there or nyu.
