Investment banking analyst positions

Hi there,

So I recently graduated a year early, and have been sending out applications to medical schools. That has always been my goal. I have a 3.70 G.P.A in a Bachelor of Biology Degree which I obtained in 3 years. My question is that suddenly I have an urge to apply to investment positions. Goldman Sachs has a new analyst position that says it requires no prior work experiences or specific major. I have taken advanced statistics, but have never interned at a bank or big agency before. My extracurriculars are great, my MCAT is great ( not that it matters in the slightest when it comes to finance),and I have several leaderships on my resume . My thing is that even though i’m still gung ho on being a doctor, what are the chances of being just accepted to interview for a new analyst position. Just curious. Thanks all!

What school did you obtain the bachelor’s degree from? Investment banks like Goldman Sachs often hold on campus recruiting sessions for interested students at the top schools like the Ivies, Stanford, MIT, UChicago, NYU Stern etc. where they predominantly recruit from. If you graduated from one of those schools, you should be able to gain an interview opportunity.

I got my degree at a science heavy school. It is in the top probably 40ish schools in the country but not one where they recruit for finance. I just want to know if they look at online apps or mostly just ignore them in favour for colleges?
