How well does CMC fare in recruiting in these fields?

Also, will recruiting in I-Banking and Consulting suffer from the recent SAT scandal? That’s one of my main concerns…

Using the CMC Career Services website ([Career Services Center, Claremont McKenna College](http://www.claremontmckenna.edu/csc/)) for the Class of 2012 (320 students), 40 went into consulting and 9 into IB, with an additional 26 in financial services. Those numbers are a result of firms in those areas knowing the quality and interests of CMC students and a deep alumni network in those industries too. You might be interested in who hired the Class of 2011 (a tough year) http://www.claremontmckenna.edu/csc/Documents/2010-2011%205C%20Employers.pdf. Also, due to a mutual cooperation agreement among the 5 Colleges, if a company interviews at any of the Claremont Colleges they are recruiting a combined senior class of around 1,400, which helps make on-campus interviewing worth their time. Bottom line, with CMCs historical and continued emphasis on economics and finance, CMCs recruiting in IB and consulting has been and will continue to be strong.

As for the SAT scandal, it did not diminish the quality of the student body (or faculty and programs), so its tough to see how an IB or consulting firm (and their CMC alumni) would refrain from recruiting at the College because of it.

Hope that helps.

Seeing as the SAT scandal was due to the dishonesty of an individual rather than a conspiracy, and that CMC self-reported the infirmity. I wager that the scandal had little to no effect on the school’s prestige.
