Iowa sstp 2012

CarolBobo is “floatingdolphin”, he/she (I think it’s a she), very efficient at texting, especially those “LOL XYZ…that’s not available on Webster’s Dictionary”, I am the mom that reported her on cc and got her kicked off SSTP and cosmos, now she is back as she said with a “vengence” to attack us on facebook and think there is nothing we can do about it. So if any of you friended her on facebook, make sure you have this person “blocked”, otherwise your inbox will be full of XYZ.
This person setup as an example of someone who is angry and not successful, spend all day texting and attack people with XYZ. Bad Apple. If she would spend all her time and talent on studying, perhaps she can join us at SSTP.
So good work kids, you guys all work hard and made it to SSTP and will do something good this summer !

@SecretAznMan: Bobo and creep: absolutely!
@lilyy: I’m Indian too. :D

Tonight I am making the SSTP group private. I’m sorry if you wanted to join, but didn’t yet! We don’t need creepers in our group, so I’m just going to add you once I get to SSTP and actually meet you! Sorry for the inconvenience. This is totally weird.

Oh my goodness!
This is girl crazy. I’ve been a part of multiple facebook-cc groups in the past and that’s never happened. I’m sorry that had to happen. Maybe members can send you a PM with their name on facebook through CC so you know who to accept and who to decline?
Just a thought.

Regardless I’m just so excited to be with y’all this summer.

@lilyy: I’m Indian too, so you’re not the only one :)

She needs to get a life -____-;;
And ooh twins? :3

lol yes me and my brother are twins (: I’m older, and I’m rubbing it in a bit right about now…

I’m coming to SSTP too. :)

awesome! welcome (: is it you and your sibling? or do you and another person just have the same last name…? lol

Where can you find “Rapid Registration” on the Registration page?

@gonyyong: Don’t remember “rapid registration” when registering at UI’s website. I do remember it was hard to find, and I think I picked regular registration.
What’s your lab placement and stats if you don’t mind sharing with us ? Are you coming from out of state ?

My problem is I don’t know what to fill out for like half of the registration thing.
Lab: Biochemistry w/ Adrian Elcock
Grade:Junior
SAT:2400
PSAT:228 (a week after the SAT…)
GPA:4.59 (ranked 20 out of 800ish)
AP’s taken: 4, taking 6 this year (my school offers every single one except Psychology)
From Colorado

@gongyong: We all registered a while ago so unless you have some specific questions, we will try to help you. I think you need to hurry up as the deadline had passed a while ago.
List your questions and we will try to answer them.

Thanks, I got it, I didn’t realize I didn’t need to fill in all the boxes, only a few of them. See you there

I’m coming to SSTP Iowa 2012 and I’ve sent a request to be added to the facebook group. Accept it please!
Lab: Genetics with Dr. John Manak
PSAT: 204 taken in freshman year
GPA: 90 % (rank 3 out of 240)
ECs: Art (3 international awards, 7 exhibitions- 5 group and 2 individual)
MUNs (Best Delegate in 7 MUNs)

Hi, I’m coming to SSTP 2012! I was placed in a chemistry lab (my first choice) with Dr. Ned Bowden. WeIsCool, thanks for making the facebook group! I’ve sent a request to be added, and I included my CC username so you’ll know I’m not a creeper. :)
A lot of you have mentioned keeping up with extracurricular activities over the summer, like tennis or piano. I’m a cellist, and I’ll need to rent a cello in Iowa City (I’m flying to the program and I can’t take my cello on the plane). Does anyone else need to rent an instrument? The person from the rental shop mentioned that another student attending SSTP had called to rent a cello. Mysterious cellist (or any other musician for that matter), if you’re on CC, contact me and maybe we could coordinate to transport the instruments to the campus.
Thanks for all of your helpful posts, and I can’t wait to meet everyone this summer!

Added you (: my piano teacher got her doctorate at Iowa and told me there were plenty of practice rooms… but last year if any of you recall the whole river area flooded, not sure how that affected anything

Does anyone know how much free time we can devote to music/sports/etc.? I’m planning to keep up with piano, tennis, and dance, too, but idk how much time we’ll have since we have our labs and classes and “planned social activities”…

Sunday mornings are free, and late evenings too I think… a lot of us want to practice instruments and do tennis or running or volleynall etc so I’m sure we’ll make some time (:

Did anyone receive anything from Ms. Warren about “human subject protection” certification yet ?? Thanks
