IPMS at CTY Or NonFiction Writing @ CTD?

Hello all,
Are DS has the opportunity to attend CTD @ Northwestern for the Nonfiction Writing Workshop or CTY for the Individually Paced Mathematics Sequence in the Baltimore site. He enjoys reading/writing and math fairly equally and has done well on all subjects on the ACT.

However, after extensive research online, I cannot find reviews or much information on CTD, and even less so on the nonfiction writing course. CTY information is out there, but less so on the IPMS course itself. Would love to hear your/your child’s experience in either of these courses!

A little bit about DS: he’s a little shy and introverted (terrified of the dances, lol), but tends to make lasting friendships when given the opportunity to bond with others. He doesn’t mind working independently and not in a group setting.

My son was invited to CTD but declined because of conflict in time with being in debate camp. IMO, either of these has the potential to be rewarding to your son. I think it’s good for confidence building – as well as improving self-awareness – for a smart kid to spend some time with peers, where it’s considered “normal” to be smart and even intellectual. Beyond that, your son may encounter some ideas that push him beyond where he’s likely to go in the normal curriculum or working on his own.
