honestly, i think memory games, reciting movie quotes, playing strategic games and growing a passion to learn are some of the ways to increase intelligence. It makes one stronger mentally.

I've always thought that reading what the best way to do that.

I heard once that you can get a rough estimation of your IQ from the SAT by dropping off the 0 from your Math + Verbal scores. Although the SAT lost the distinction of being an IQ test when it was recentered, I still think that it correlates to IQ. I took an online IQ test (not the best indicator in the world) and scored about a 130 and my SAT score (M+CR) is 1350, therefore, this method is somewhat accurate. Actually, my SAT score was 1300 when I took it the first time, therefore my SAT IQ was pratically identical to my actual IQ.

146 is my IQ
some people have higher IQ's than me, but they are failing classes (lazy?)
I don't think that the IQ test is a good way test to test smartness - or any other test for that matter

I had my IQ tested when I was 10 (I was switching to a "gifted" school), but I feel like if I took an IQ test right now I'd probably do a lot worse. Have people studied if IQ increases/decreases with age? A lot of people claim that it doesn't change, but I have my suspicions.

Certified test: 154
Tickle IQ Test (online): 176
lol, don't take online tests.

Wow, 176 on the Tickle IQ test, thats especially amazing since it their "Classic IQ Test" only goes up to 144!

craze-

Actually, there was a study done where nobel prize winners took an IQ test and it ranged from about 110 (average) to literally off the charts.

The numbers depend on what test you're taking. I took the WISC IV and got a 150, but on the WISC III, I would have gotten like 10-20 points higher....

A 150 IQ is the 99.99th percentile. I think that test you took sucks.

I don't think the all of the tests suck, I just think everyones lying out of their asses

I'm not saying I would have done better on another test- The ceiling is lower on the WISC IV. I'm saying that on another test, the numbers would have been different. Same percentile range, just a different actual number for the score.

My IQ be 17.

Excuse me, an IQ score of 150 equates to the 99.9 percentile usually. However, that still means you would be the smartest or second smartest person in your average 2000 person high school. I highly doubt the IQ test you took accurately models high IQ. Perhaps you should take a power test or the like.

http://www.eskimo.com/~miyaguch/power.html

Getting 15 right on that test equates to around 150 IQ.

IQ means nothing. Mine's 156, and seriously, I'm an idiot.

Some of the smartest people in the world live in their parents' basements. Life is about how hard you work - that's it. Work as hard as you can and you will accomplish more than a genius who works half as hard. I'm lazy, so I would know.

and, uh, Mr. Payne? that test you linked is insane. It tests one thing and one thing only - spatial abilities. Looking at the problems gave me a headache. I hardly see how it could accurately predict the intelligence of someone who has outstanding verbal capabilities but poor spatial abilities...I don't think it's well-rounded. But whatever, maybe I'm just easily intimidated. Regardless of that, it's an interesting test.

I love problems/questions like the ones on the link Mr. Payne gave.
