IRVINE decisions

hobofromdowntown is right about the advanced standing thing. It means you're transferring as a junior.

I didn't get my result yet. The last ten days felt like ten years!!

Don't worry some people will have to wait until the end of April. It'll be like 50 more years for them.

it did but you didn't notice ;D The paranoia is taking its role now.

I think everyone who gets in and posts on this board should all get together to celebrate once they make it here to Irvine, I live in OC, and although I do not go to UCI I'd join in the festivities!!

Did anyone else receive an email about Financial Aid from UCI?

Does this mean we should be past the stage where we all think everyone else is either a stalker or serial killer? :)

Nope, what did it say? I thought in regards to financial aid, schools only contact you if they need something from you, otherwise, they handle everything for you automatically without your knowing.

It just said that they received my Financial Aid form that I sent online and that I will be notified if they need any additional information from me. There might be more to it but I just quickly glanced over the email.

I got it too. You can login and check your status. Nothing extra is currently required of me. It says that you submitted the FAFSA on time, etc.

I received the same thing and when i checked on their website, it said I have submitted the FAFSA on time but it didn't tell me my financial aid package though :)

Good to hear. :)

Oh yeah, I have been invited to the Math major orientation tomorrow at 1:15 PM in UCI and I wonder anyone else is going?

does that mean you're accepted?

I have two friends who applied to UCI math major who also get the same letter; one with 3.8+ GPA (still waiting for the result), one with exact 3.0 GPA (accepted) and me 3.7 (still waiting for the result)...

Below is a little extract of my received letter from UCI Math Department:

"Based on your overall academic record, we are pleased to invite you to "Mathematics at UCI", a special introduction to the UCI Department of Mathematics on Saturday, March 11, 2006. Our program offers undergraduates a variety of Mathematics courses and tracks in a stimulating environment. You will have a chance to meet members of our faculty as well as current students [...]
We hope that you will use this opportunity to hear about our program offerings and will select UCI as your enrollment choice [...]"

I wonder anyone else receives any kind of letter like this from any department in UCI?

I wasn't invited to any Political Science orientation. :(

DENIED!

yea because ucla laid claim to you first :-)

I love you man, but not in a Brokeback Mountain kind of way.

I also get nothing from UCI:( My gpa is 3.3, but I got A's for most of the major courses except two organic chemisty classes, which I screwed up :( Damn, my fd got into UCLA with a 2.8, and she was admitted to all UC's she had applied.

WHA!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!

Shirley please tell me more about your 2.8 admit friend that got into UCLA.

And many other haven't received their acceptance letter yet, you've still gots lots of time.

My fd said that she didn't volunteer during cc years, she did it all when she was in high school. She has no spectacular EC, and just worked as a part-time cashier. And she's from low income family. I assume she wrote a very great personal statement. Her major is geography.

aw, geog is pretty unimpacted. Did she have alll her prereqs?

And she got into UCI international studies too.
