<p>Basically the Irvine internet guy goes on the computer at 9:00 AM every morining to post up peoples admit status. It will only happen at 9:00AM. If it didn't change by 9:00am you have to wait till the next day. It won't change hour by hour.</p>

kevin101, it simply means that UCI doesn't want you and others tying up the system resources all day long. The university community needs to have unimpeded access during the daytime. </p>
<p>They will update the admissions data overnight, probably on the 11 pm - 7 am shift.</p>
<p>I wonder if this is similar for UCR.</p>
<p>Admissions staff will do their updates during the day shift, and those updates will be processed overnight, or at least, after regular business hours. This really isn't rocket science!</p>

<p>Accepted. Checked the UCI Admissions website this morning and got a letter when I came home. Hopefully I won't need to accept their offer (will patiently wait to hear from the rest of the UCs).</p>
