if ultimately i want to apply for medical school</p>
<p>first of all, who knows if you'll get into berkeley as a transfer? think long and hard because once you choose, you can't go back. UCI is a decent school and keep in mind you don't even know if you'll ultimately want to go to med school</p>

prestige doesn't even really matter for undergrad, as long as you have the numbers (GPA + MCAT)... i also think you would really lose out on the college experience and will regret it... uci is a great school. it's no berkeley, but it's still tier 1 (lucky us californians, all of our uc's are basically tier 1)
anyways, DONT DO IT. GO TO UCI</p>
<p>or another thought, if you do go to a JC, still apply both UCI, Cal, etc?</p>
