im taking precalculus as a senior, and need to take the test by december/january at the very latest. School starting 1st of september

if you self-study the important topics covered later in the year, like trig

i think it really depends on the math student. first of all, of course, you’d have to get a book and learn the things you have yet to learn. but at the same time, SAT math is geared towards people who are truly good at math, at least I think. for example, i know my school to have a horrible math program (comparing to other schools i have attended) and although many people get A’s in precalc and quite a few in calc, most are very unprepared to succeed on these standardized tests.

If your SAT I score is >=700, then you probably have have the aptitude to self study Math IIC.

i thought there was no connection between SAT 1 math and SAT Math 2.. since math 2 tests you’re knowledge while the SAT 1 tests how well you can find patterns and tricks.

i would not advise it unless there are circumstances

hmm i was planning on trying this as well… my sat math score is ~650
the way my school handles precalc is actually taking trig first semester and math analysis second so perhaps this will be beneficial?
