Is 6 AP Classes in my JUNIOR year too much?

As a Junior, I will be taking:
AP English
AP Calculus AB
AP Physics 1
AP US History
AP Psychology
AP Art History
** Keep in mind, this is the year of the SATs.

Is this too much?

It is a challenge but I think you’ll do fine.
Also I think you should take physics C because my teacher said it’s actually easier than physics 1 because you can use calculus to justify answers and stuff. And also why not take calc bc it has basically the same curriculum you just do some additional stuff at the end which isn’t much. Plus you spend the last whole quarter preparing for the ap test.

Unless you’re planning on going into STEM, you don’t need to take AP Phys. C.^ It is not easier: it’s calculus-based, while Physics 1 is algebra-based. “So what? I’m in Calc.” Well, no. You need training wheels in physics before you start riding the Phys. C bike comfortably.

Your course-load doesn’t seem too brutal. You know what you can handle. I’m only taking 4 (I’m a junior) and I pretty much constantly wish I were taking more APs.

1° Have you received an A in Honors Physics or AP Physics 1?
2° Have you reached foreign language level 4?
3° Choose between AP Psychology and AP Art History. Pick one, not both.
4° It’s a very rigorous schedule. How many honors&Ap’s are you currently taking and how many hours do you sleep per night?
5° 4 AP’s would be sufficient for most top colleges. What is your end goal in taking more?

This looks fine to me. My D took 7. But only you need to judge for yourself what you can handle. If you can do well in 6, go for it. If you think it will be too much, drop one. If you are thinking about dropping a class, I’d suggest art history. What about foreign language?

How many AP’s are you currently taking, and how much time is available after studying, EC’s, etc. This schedule will keep you beyond busy studying unless you are a tippy-top student now. Some students find AP Art History, APUSH, and AP Psych to be very time consuming, ask around at your school. I would take 1 less AP and reduce your stress for next year. As you mentioned, you will have exams. Taking a few practice tests would be more beneficial than 6 AP’s.

You should be fine provided that you have good study habits. I also have 6 and even though I am a clueless idiot with no work ethic, I am doing fine (5 A’s in my 6 AP classes).

How many ap classes are you taking this year? If you’re taking 4, I’d say go for it. If you’re only taking 2 or so, I wouldn’t do it. I think it’s great that you want to challenge yourself, and if you have the work ethic you’ll be fine. But, if you opt out of one or two of those classes and then take an equal amount senior year you’d also be fine with college admissions and what not.
