I've taken the SAT three times, and my scores went along the progression of 2150, 2250, 2400. Is the fact that I got a 2400 on my third try all that impressive? Considering the fact that its my third time, aren't i expected to do significantly better? I am just curious, because I am applying ED to columbia and they only recomend that you take it twice, but obviously i took it thrice, and so I was wondering if it would increase my chances at all...they say the only look at the best scores, so i am not sure...thanks for any responses!

Use score choice, they will never know whether you take it 10 times or 1 time

it should not matter cuz a 2400 is great

Scores typically only rise on the first retake. To bring your score up by 250 points is impressive, as is the score itself. Colleges will not discount your score; it is impressive. Even at top schools, 2400’s have acceptance rates around 50%.

thanks for the replies…I would love to use score choice on columbia but they require all scores, and I don’t want to risk lying to them or anything. thanks though, that makes me feel better haha

It might not be as impressive as a 2400 on your first try, but it is still very impressive. Congratulations
