I recently took the Dec 2017 ACT test and score a 33 composite (33 English, 35 Math, 28 Reading, 35 Science). I want to see if this score is good enough so that I can spend time on other parts of the application (activities, competitions, etc.), or should I pursue a high score? I’m aiming to do a STEM subject at university, and I want to get into a selective one.
How does that score compare with your practice tests? I would recommend taking a practice test and seeing what you score. If that score is higher than retake the ACT. A 33 is a solid score, but it would be good to raise the reading score to above a 30 if possible for selective universities.
I personally think the 33 ACT score is fine. It’s in the 98th percentile, so yeah, well done! Focus on other parts of your application.
