I will be a junior next semester. I am already majoring in Philosophy and Political Science. I think I will be able to arrange my schedule in a way so as to pick up another major in Econ. The only problem is that it will be a B.A. in economics. Am I wasting my time? It seems like kind of a B.S. degree as there is not a lot of math involved. If I am serious about economics, should I considering doing another year and picking up a B.S.?

If you take/have taken enough math classes I don't see it making a difference. I am planning on majoring in Econ/Math and my advisor said this is basically the same as a BS, if not better.

So you are doing a B.A.?

Yes I'm doing BA (only required Calc 1)

My math joint major requires only 4 additional math courses and 1 Econ/Math joint class. (and 1 intro computer science class.)

So were you to pursue an MBA, you would not run into any trouble because of your math background?
