Is a B.B.A with an emphasis in Finance equivalent to a Bachelors of Science in Finance?

I am currently majoring in Finance with a concentration in corporate finance. I am considering transferring to a school that only offers a Business Administration degree with a emphasis in Finance. I was wondering if employers would look at these degrees as being the same?

The degree names are synonymous; each university is free to title its degrees as it sees fit - some use the BS some the BBA. What you really need to ask are which employers recruit and hire from the two universities - that is much more important.

Thanks. I guess I never really thought about that. I assume I would just figure that your by going to the career center and going to job fairs on campus? I am only a sophomore, so I haven’t been trying to get close to employers in my field just yet.

Yes, go to the career centers or you might be able to get some of the information online.

Many schools like to brag about the firms that interview onsite and some give details about the top 5 or 10 firms making offers to the senior class. You need to analyze the data and sort out “interviewed on campus” from “extended offers” or “top employers” data - obviously a big name company coming to campus is good, having them make an offer or have an offer accepted is much better!
