I have a strong interest in designing/prototyping/R&D, and would love to have a career working on prostheses and mechanical hearts. I know that a BS in biomedical engineering is a jack of all trades/master of none kind of thing, so would i be better off with a BS in mechanical engineering? Or do i need a masters in BME as well? Thanks everyone!!
The answer to your thread’s title is a nonchalant “yes”
@baseliner Lol could you elaborate a bit more? Is it enough to get me a job in the industry of prosthetics/other medical devices?
Yes. Olin students have worked on prosthetic design and solution for those needed assisted technologies. Graduates have gone on to work in robotics and other similar companies.

Doesn’t it depend on WHERE you earn the BS in ME for something in the BME field?
