Hey! So im sitting here looking for colleges, as im not a US citizen the only schools that i can afford are schools like SDSU.
Here in Sweden I have a chance to get into universities like Chalmers and KTH which are very prestigous here. But I want to work and live in the US in the future and therafore i figured my chances to get a job over there would increase alot by going to a US college. So the big question is if San Diego State is enough for engineering? I have seen that the school has got some pretty bad reputation, will this make it harder to get a job?
Also, do you think that the chance to get a job in the USA as an international increase by having a degree in a US college, even if its not particularly good? I guess that internships helps
If you are an International student attending college in the US, do not rely on the chance that you will be able to work in the US after graduation. Many International students come to the US for school, but return to their country for work so pretigious US colleges are what they want since they are recognized at home. SDSU is a very good school but does not have the World wide recognition of UC Berkley, Stanford, UCLA. The student will get a very good education at SDSU and it does have a “party” reputation, but if student that wants that type of atmosphere can find it any college if they try. If the student has some outstanding colleges in their home country, no SDSU is not worth the cost to attend and there is no guarantee of employment here in the US after they graduate.
Note: I am a current SDSU parent.
