Is a counselor recommendation REUIRED? Conflicting information on CommonApp. What is correct answer?

The UChicago admissions page lists what is required when submitting an application and all the pieces. The list seems clear. When you look at the Common App list for UChicago, it lists a counselor recommendation is also required in addition to 2 teacher recommendations, etc.

Is a counselor recommendation REQUIRED for a complete UChicago application?

I would think so. Usually your counselor writes something about you alongside something about your school. E.g., your course rigor in the context of your school (school report).

Why did you ask this question? Anything special about it?
