is a degree in accounting a good idea?

<p>I want to study accounting, but i'm wondering if it will be worth my investments?
i got accepted to UF online, but they don't have an accounting option, however they do have a Business Administration, General Business (BSBA) and i was thinking of doing that and then maybe finance later? but that feels kind of silly.
i want to do online or at least attend school near me.
Are there any better schools to attend online for a degree in accounting?
i've already been accepted for UF's 2015 spring semester so going into the BSBA program seems easiest, but i saw other postings here on college confidential advising people not to get a degree in BSBA.
ANY ADVICE?</p>

<p>The description for the BSBA with UF online is as follows: The online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-General Business (BSBA-IBA ONL) degree program, which provides a broad overview of the functional areas of business, is designed for students who live outside the Gainesville community or have work and/or family commitments that make traditional campus attendance impractical. Students take foundational courses in economics, mathematics, computing skills and accounting; core courses that relate to the basic functions of business, such as finance, management, marketing and operations management; and professional development courses such as business communication and career management."</p>
