is a fall 2015 transfer possible? (CA state schools)

I go to a private (costly) school in California, but this spring my single mother was let go of her job. Of course, she filled out a special circumstance form for financial aid, and we both expected to get more scholarships/grants considering our family income dropped significantly. We just got the results yesterday, and she is still expected to take out nearly $20k in loans (which is the same amount she needed to take out originally). I’m still in talks with the school to see if they can give me more money, but I want to know of other options for the fall, or if worse comes to worse, the spring.

Considering the trouble I’ve had with private schools, I’m mostly thinking about transferring to state schools, but if private schools would be easier to deal with, I’m more than willing to consider them too (given they take are willing to give me a break financially).

Obviously, regular transfer applications for fall 2015 were due a year ago, but since my situation is extenuating, do I have a chance in enrolling in a 4 year university – ideally a UC or cal state (specifically SLO) – for the fall? I’ll be a junior in the fall, so community college isn’t really an option. If not, do UCs/Cal States take spring admissions?

It’s upsetting that something so completely out of my control could potentially cause me to be held back for a year, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who has had this happen to, so hopefully there are more options?

The short answer re fall 2015 is no.

Re spring admits, I can only speak for UCs and they all only offer fall except Merced, not sure of deadline but I assume it has passed.

Update: it might still be open:

I’ve glanced through the UC website and I understand that the deadline for the fall was months ago, but I figured since this wasn’t just an “I forgot to apply” instance and that me continuing college fell apart very suddenly in the past few months, there might exceptions.

Well, I don’t know. The only possible way would be if there were some majors still open. Check here:

https://secure.csumentor.edu/filing_status/Default.asp indicates that three CSUs are accepting fall 2015 applications, but the campus notices for transfers indicate that only one of them actually is accepting transfer applications, and then only for one specific major.

However, Bakersfield and East Bay are accepting applications for upper division transfers for winter 2016, San Francisco will open applications for spring 2016 later this summer. Monterey Bay is accepting spring 2016 transfer applications only for the on-line version of the CS major.
