I’m a freshman at Harvard considering concentrating in either History or Comparative Literature, but I’m hoping that an empirical secondary will help make me more marketable to employers. Not really sure what I want to do yet for a career. Thoughts on whether math or ec is more valuable?
Thanks!
It depends entirely on what you want to do and the kinds of jobs you’ll be looking for. If you’re not sure yet what you want to do for a career, choose based upon your interests. Both can be useful secondary concentrations or minors.
Not sure which specialization will help you the most, but I suggest taking Ec 10 with Mankiw at Harvard since he and that course are both famous. A micro econ course will be needed if you ever decide to get a masters in business or public policy.
