Is a Score better than 2300 Acheiveble ?

@Suly99 Please dont belittle my already pathetic self respect ( or whats left of it )

Actually 1660 is above average so it’s not bad. But top schools like MIT or IVY’s ask for 2250+.

@Hassnain360 she got a 2270 on the SAT.

Again, good luck!

Oh - one more thing - there is a great book called tutor ted’s solution manual for the blue book. Get it, and meticulously go over every answer you got wrong so you won’t make the same mistakes over and over.
Also, practice over more than 3 months for best results (we did it over 6 months).

@Hassnain360: Are you a troll? I’m sorry but if you’ve been studying for 3 months and your math score is a 580 you must be doing something wrong. Did you purchase a prep book and take practice tests? Maybe you just did badly on test day because of testing anxiety? And don’t have suicidal thoughts over a test…Albert Einstein discovered many great things without doing well on this test we call the “SAT”. Just learn how to game it and you’ll be fine.

@Hassnain360 my son, don’t let haters like Juicymango get under your skin.
There will always be people who try to get inside your head or make you feel insecure.

Form a plan and stick to it. Ignore people with negative energy. Keep your eye on the prize. Eye on the prize…

@Nerdyparent @JuicyMango Juicy mango is right . I was checking mg score report and found out i had 0 Hard questions wrong and 4 easy wrong in a math section … I guess that was just a bad day for me . Test anxiety killed me . I am getting free from 15 June ( my finals are ending ) , Then There is Sat and Me , and nothing will come between us !!

@Nerdyparent: Sorry, I didn’t mean to come off as a “hater”. I was just wondering if he was t-r-o-l-l-i-n-g or not because if you study for that long and get only a 580 in math then there is something seriously wrong.
@Hassnain360: Just take practice tests under timed conditions and imagine it is real so you can practice performing under pressure. I’m glad I could help :).

@JuicyMango and I apologize for misconstruing things… Peace bro!

PS @JuicyMango is that Paul Morphy I see before me?

Yes, it’s possible. the first PSAT score i got was a 170 my sophomore year --> 1700 SAT… very bad and a blow to my ego. However, with more practice over the summer I began scoring in the 1900s, then the 2000s. I took the PSAT again and got a 215 my junior year… bad… but I didn’t study too much for it. Then I took the SAT, focusing on my “problem areas” and got a 2300.

Here’s my study regime
170 -> 1900 range

  • Took a class at Kaplan. Do not reccomend.
  • Gruber’s SAT book
    1900 --> 2200 range
  • Blue Book - 10 practice tests
  • Barron’s Book - math section
  • Dr. Chung’s Math
  • Meltzer’s grammar… this is godsend!
    2200 - 2300
  • I realized my flaws were in (1) reading comp (2) error-identification (3) essay so I did practice using a reading comp book with 50+ passages, studied past tests for errors, and timed essays
  • I also did real tests from the SAT collegeboard course, downloaded from free (from a friend)
