Thanks so much for your input everyone.

@nomadba3 or anyone else that would know: What’s the acceptance rate for the Ross BBA program for Michigan students applying after first year?

Also, @nomadba3 you bring up a good point that if I decide to go to UMich and do not get into the BBA program that I would end up majoring in something I am not particularly interested in - which could be problematic considering all the money being spent.

I think I am leaning towards attending VTech for a year or two so my parents won’t feel pressured about paying and working hard there to hopefully transfer into UVa. Thanks again for everyone’s help!

Best of luck EllexInc. I think your decision to attend VTech, if that is the way you end up going, would be a wise one. I wish Michigan would have been more affordable for you, but I’m sure you’ll do well wherever you attend .

I also think VTech with the intent of transfering to UVa is the way to go. UVa admits 35% (over 800 out of fewer than 2,400) of transfer applicants. I am sure VTech students will be given priority over transfer applicants from OOS universities.

I do not think VA Tech is a bad school…I know PLENTY of intelligent and competent kids that go there. I don’t know any screwovers that go there…

I’m really pleased with the advice I’m seeing here (UM people?). Glad to see that people understand the perils of college debt, that rankings aren’t everything, that places like VT can be just fine.
