I had someone tell me that my son should take the ACT just to see how high a score he can get. For those of you who have taken it and the SAT, which one seemed easier? We live in Va where very few people take the ACT, and don't personally know anyone who has taken it, but the rumor is that it is a lot easier than the SAT.

Ohio is ACT territory. I got a 34 out of 36 (99 percentile), SAT was 2260 (1470) on old scale. I don't know which is better, but the ACT did seem easier.

It really depends. The ACT questions are a lot easier, but they also give a lot less time (science section especially). It's usually a matter of preference. I got 35 on ACTs twice, and 2180 on my SATs, so to me the ACTs were a lot easier. Give your son a practice test and see which one he likes better.

To each his own. Some people find the SAT easier while some find the ACT easier. Take a practice test and see how he does.
