Is an International Business degree what I'm looking for?

Hi, My names Wilder. I'm currently a freshman in college looking to transfer into a bigger school once I finish my core, I have a general idea of what I want to study, but i'm not sure whether the Major I want falls more under International Relations, International Business, or something else.

I am heavily interested in doing business abroad, particularly with Germany. I want to be a representative for a large scale company and work abroad for them, perhaps in sells? The skills i'm looking to pick up in my undergrad are languages, knowledge of international culture that I could use in my profession, and also information on global economics. What I am NOT looking for is loads of mathematic courses and accounting; i'm more interested in the social interactions of business than the number crunches.

Should I look for a degree in International Relations, International Business, or something else for this sort of knowledge?

Thanks ahead of time!

Sounds like a dual Communications (& Culture) + Macroeconomics Degree

Or, forget the MacroE and get an MBA after the Communication degree. Also, cultural psychology might help.

Yeah, I agree with Jasper–sounds more like Communications/Culture paired with a foreign language degree–then followed up by an MBA in International Business (although the MBA degree will require a few accounting and computer and math courses).

Sales people generally major in marketing or in communications, or in Psychology. All have their usefulness in the sales environment.
