Is anyone else having trouble viewing their admissions status on the PPU website?

I keep trying to check my admissions status, but it is just not opening.

Yes, I’m seeing a message that says, “The page you are looking for could not be found or you do not have permission to see it”

I am also. mine just won’t load.

Okay, at least now I know it is not my computer. I have been trying all day! I just want to know if I got into the theatre program! The suspense is killing me, and I am sure everyone else who auditioned.

I’m trying to be patient with hearing back from all these colleges…it’s certainly harder than I expected it would be! :stuck_out_tongue: the best thing to do is put it in the back of your mind until you receive your admission decision…that way you don’t obsess over it!

When did u guys audition?

I auditioned on Feb 4th. I really shouldn’t be checking my admissions status considering the little time I have had between my audition and now. I am just making myself crazy.

I just auditioned Feb 6th at Chicago unifieds. Athena - it seems we’re both a little impatient! ;)

Alas, with email and websites the colleges have contributed to feeling of many students that decisions and communications are instantaneous. That is not the world of academia.
My son auditioned in LA on Saturday and with the time change and long-distance flights, the panel who saw kids at the Unified sites won’t even be back on campus until Tuesday - if they didn’t stay over for obligations or travel.
They no doubt have families of their own and teaching duties - and some of these decisions are made by a committee so my guess is look for results the week of Feb. 27 at the earliest.
Good luck to all

Hey I auditioned Feb 6th at Chicago Unifieds too!!!

The website seems to be working now, but SantaFeDad is right. You really shouldn’t drive yourself crazy checking and re-checking, expecting to hear anything for at LEAST a week. I know it seems like the whole focus of your world right now, but the auditors have other things going on in their lives and can’t devote full-time effort to making these decisions and sending them out!

Another thing to remember is that there is OFTEN a disconnect between the “paperwork” aspect of notifying a student and updating the website. You may or may not see a change on the website, even after a decision has been made and notification sent. Remember again, you are dealing with busy human beings, not computers.

I know what you mean, but I can’t help it! Point Park is one of the only schools I auditioned for that allows me to check my status online so I find that I am sort of replacing my anxiousness for other schools with Point Park… If that makes sense. I hope it does. I am starting auditions for a play tomorrow and I still have four more auditions for schools so hopefully that will get my mind off of admissions decisions! lol

Yeah I was bit teased today! I got an email today saying that I was accepted into Point Park…I was literally jumping for joy. Only then to realize that it was only an academic acceptance, ha! I’m still kinda happy though.

It is clear academic acceptances are posted on the website, but can someone who has received an MT acceptance clarify for me: Is the decision on the website or did it come in the mail?

santafedad,

Last year, only academic acceptance was posted on PointWeb (I think that’s the system…hard to keep them all straight). My d also received a paper academic acceptance and scholarship letter, paper letters for honors college, and (the one everyone waits for!!) paper letter with acceptance to MT and talent scholarship. She applied to PPU in mid-September 2010, auditioned the end of October 2010. Received the academic acceptance quickly (2 weeks or so?) and got her artistic letter mid-November (keep in mind that was before Unifieds, so it may take a bit longer for them to complete their paperwork on decisions).

PointWeb was not always updated with status changes. But the key was a “last contact” tab or so…last year, online they tracked the stuff they sent you. D logged in, (and I forget the exact wording!), but saw something to the effect that a talent award letter had been mailed on a certain date…so she had the thought to look for happy news in the mail (and it was). They certainly may have changed their notification system this year, but that’s what was going on one year ago.

Good luck, everybody!

It’s true they don’t post acceptance into the COPA online you have to wait. Which sucks. But if you look at letters they send I found out when it said that my apprenticeship letter had been sent. So yours may say apprenticeship or scholarship letter has been sent.
