is anyone else super lonely?

i moved in two days ago and know a total of like three people... my roommate has both her best friends and her boyfriend here so she's always gone with them. there's another three days before classes starts... so if anyone wants someone to eat with/run errands with/etc etc...let meee know!
i'm pretty miserable in my dorm room, hopefully i'm not the only one?

oh you’re not the only one. it sucks watching people do group things with their friends and im just sitting there looking like a sitting duck. i have no tv but i have a computer but theres not much to do on the internet so i know how you feel. where you staying?

Yeah, same here. I’ve had to aggressively ask people to hang out with me as to not be so lonely. It’ll be okay, I think it will get better! You are not alone!

:)

i’m living in andrews! how about you?

for realz!?! i’m living in andrews too (floor 0, the basement)!

oh im in kinsolving which is pretty close which is across the street.

come meet me and my roommate! andrews 214

ok. i have to eat first but i guess i’ll just ask for jack daniels…haha is there any particular thing you’ll be doing tonight or something?

i’m not sure yet, there’s that movie thing but it sounds kind of lame. just come down here at meet us haha

Am I invited? I would feel like such a creeper if I walked around the 2nd floor without really being a guest (I’m a really socially awkward guy).

ah dude i tried to get in the andrews building but the door wouldn’t let me in. i used my card but the thing kept flashing red instead of green. how about we visit somewhere else?

Your ID card only allows you into your particular dorm… Silly freshman

i noticed it shortly after…but its okay people learn after doing something stupid as opening the door with their card. it wouldnt be a good idea to have everybody have access to their dorm.

I live in Blanton and am horribly bored and lonely as well. I’ve literally exchanged maybe three sentences with my roommate since I moved in. He’s only been here a few days and already has TONS of friends, in fact, right now he’s eating dinner at some place on Lamar with a group of people. He’s already like best friends with the RA. I haven’t met ANYONE, the only people I’ve even spoken to besides my roommate are the guy at the PCL checkout and this random guy from down the hall who tried to introduce himself to me this morning as I was exiting the shower. Just now a huge group of people is parading down the hall, laughing and talking. I feel like hiding under my desk.

me too…it sucks. i suck at making friends really! anyone want to hang out seriously.? it sucks to ask this kind of question online on a thread because i don’t have the guts to do so in person.

So should we have some sort of “Honors Quad Socially Inept Get-Together”? :P

^ OMG totally

okaayyy does anyone want to meet up tonightt? i’m at andrews right now with another girl and we’re going out somewheree ummm pm me if you want to meet !

Just go sit at the picnic tables in the center of the honors quad. Bring a deck of cards or something. People will be walking by; some will stop to talk. :)

it is normal the first week or so to feel lonely, you are w/o your family and you’re on your own.

Once school starts, your dorms should be having floor meetings where you can meet everyone, interact with your classmates, and join some organizations.

Don’t worry about it, just because you have not met anyone yet won’t mean that you won’t meat a TON of people throughout the year.
