Its not that hard not to be interested in the Ivies...

I am another person... not interested.... my parents refuse to pay... and i don't want them too either... i'd rather get a full merit scholarship somewhere else.

I'm not but only because they don't have the atmosphere I want. I don't really want that showoff prestige or anything either. I want a more subtle less in your face degree...if that makes any sense at all.

raises hand
Here's my list: Temple, U of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, RIT, East Carolina U, and (maybe) U of Oregon.
None of those are anywhere close to Ivy and I wouldn't have it any other way. ^_^

Well the main reason i'll probably be applying to the ivy league, in this case yale, maybe, is mostly because i liked the school overall (well who wouldnt after reading the shiny brochures and the "students say" section on princetonreview.com) and the financial aid initiative that if your family earns less than a certain amount per year then they don't have to contribute anything to your education. So thats a big plus and i'm willing to apply to an ivy league if it will exempt my family from debt and actually paying for my education

are u on the right thread?^^^^ and w/ the whole initiative thing.... where were u when i was trying to tell ppl about that.... ppl didn't believe me that the ivies have it, and your parents pay nothing.

my former ivy league professor preferred her cal state class to her yale class. it's full of regurgitated information and avoids free thinking and discussion. but that's just her view... i like to think i got a yale education at a cal state price.

for anyone on this thread.... which is better academically, and socially. Rutgers or The college of new jersey????????? (i know TCNJ is not ranked)
